An anti-obesity vaccine: another ridiculous idea from the scientific community!

Did you know that there is a vaccine in the pipeline that gets our immune systems to fight weight gain could let us “stay slim on a junk food diet”?

The vaccine is at its infancy of development but mice given a single injection of this shot lost 10 percent of body weight after four days.

Sadly for people seeking a weight-loss quick fix and not addressing the root cause of their weight problem.

The jabs described are designed to block the effects of a hormone called somatostatin, which has many different functions in the body.

You can read more about this here:

“Vaccination against weight gain”

“ In summary, active vaccination against ghrelin, and potentially other anabolic molecules, appears to be a viable method to slow weight gain and fat accrual in mammals. Additional studies with these active vaccines and passive antibodies, including catalytic antibodies to ghrelin, will further define the role of immunopharmacotherapy in perturbing energy homeostasis and ultimately in combating obesity.”

In other words, they really believe that the answer to the pandemic of obesity is vaccinating people!

This is ludicrous!

There is no doubt that we are in an unprecedented epidemic. I believe that people are starting to realize that a strong immune system starts with a good diet.

Wow, what a revolutionary concept! 😊

Food that we put in our bodies is the key to stay healthy and minimize the risks of getting sick.

Sugar is THE enemy #1.

Sugar reduces the function of the immune system for several hours after its consumption by affecting the function of the white blood cells.

In other words, sugar makes you more prone to get infections.

Have you noticed that the flu season picks after the Holidays? When people ate tons of sugar and processed foods?

Here’s an interesting article:

“NYU scientists: Largest US study of COVID-19 finds obesity the single biggest ‘chronic’ factor in New York City’s hospitalizations”

Here’s the link:

“They found obesity, along with age, was the biggest deciding factor in hospital admissions, which may suggest the role of hyper-inflammatory reactions that can happen in those with the disease.”

“The chronic condition with the strongest association with critical illness was obesity, with a substantially higher odds ratio than any cardiovascular or pulmonary disease,” write lead author Christopher M. Petrilli of the NYU Grossman School and colleagues in a paper, “Factors associated with hospitalization and critical illness among 4,103 patients with COVID-19 disease in New York City

In other words, poor health status increases the risk of getting this virus.

This is not a new concept at all. We know that food impacts our health.

And what is the main driver of obesity in the country? Sugar! It always comes back to sugar!

We do not live in a vaccination deficient society and adding more vaccines to our schedule would not help.

Take home message: stop eating sugar and you will have a stronger immune system!

God bless y’all 🙂
